C2/C2D Personal Perspective Essay Sample 1
Coffee! This is what my parents drink every morning and lunch. Our kitchen smells nice in the mornings because it. My parents said they like the taste and the nice smell of it. However, they will not let me drink coffee because they said it is not good for children. I believe they are incorrect because there are a few reasons how coffee could be beneficial for me.

Idea

Clear opinion of the topic.

First of all, coffee has caffeine which gives the body extra energy. As a student, I study a lot and as a result I get tired every day. My parents tell me to exercise so that I can get the extra energy I need. But, I do not have the time and I am usually too tired to run. One day, I decided to drink coffee when my parents were still sleeping. Instead of watching TV or playing games, I was able finish my school and academy homework quickly. Although my stomach felt a little weird, I felt proud about finishing what I needed to do.

The second reason coffee can be beneficial is that it reduces my stress. I did not know that I was so stressed but my friends said that I have big dark circles like a panda. This made me sad because I felt old even though I am just in elementary school. I did not want to look this way. So, after that first time of drinking coffee, I bought coffee again on the way to school the next week. Afterwards, I was energetic all day at school. I played dodgeball with my friends and I volunteered in class very well.

These are the reasons why I believe coffee can help me although I am not an adult. Therefore, my parents should let me drink it.

  14. Yeah this is quite a good essay but the thing is caffeine isn’t only good, it has bad points tho.

First of all, caffeine may cause “rebound headaches,” which are migraine or tension headaches induced by withdrawal of caffeine in people who consume it habitually. In those who infrequently consume caffeine, it tends to have the opposite effect – it can actually abort an acute headache.

Second, caffeine can induce and/or exacerbate anxiety and even induce panic attacks in people susceptible to them.

Third, caffeine has the potential to induce heart palpitations and arrhythmias in people susceptible to them.

Fourth, Caffeine can interfere with sleep.

Fifth, caffeine can interfere with calcium absorption and increase the risk of osteoporosis (low bone density) and fractures. This is especially true of women who maintain a low calcium diet.

Lastly, Caffeine increases the frequency and amount of urination, which can contribute to urgency incontinence.

These points would be the supporting ideas of opposite opinion with this writing. Also caffeine has bad effects afterwards, even if we get short term advantages from it so it’d be better opinion to say caffeine isn’t beneficial to us.

  44. I think it’s always important to tell the students that this isn’t an expository style essay. I always make it a point to tell my students that they should be writing me a story about something that happened in their lives. Tell them to write about something that happened in their life that helped them form their opinion on the topic.

  45. When brainstorming with your students about the C2/C2D essay prompts, make sure they can relate their examples back to their ideas. Whatever they go on to describe using logic or emotion needs to have real relevancy to the larger idea to keep the essay consistent

  46. In writing a personal essay for the C2 module, it is important to recognize the key issues that have been taught. These are issues that are often known in a broad and worldly setting, topics that you may generalize and contextualize into your own life. For example, the topic of drinking coffee is very easily relatable because of its everyday accessibility. Its availability is especially event in South Korea, so coming up with an example related to coffee and the many cafes is much easier. For example, one time, I drank way too much coffee and even though it helped me concentrate throughout the day, I could not sleep at night.
I think this C2 Personal Essay page is useful, especially with the guided directions on the side. It has a simple layout so it doesn’t feel too busy (i.e. sensory overload). The underlining also helps indicate to readers the important transition words or guided directions in order to write a better C2 essay.

  47. Step 1: Brainstorm topic ideas.
Step 2. Choose a topic idea you like and can easily write about.
Step 3. Think of supporting details and examples for your topic choice.
Step 4. Organize your details in an outline. (Main point, reasons, examples and explanation)
Step 5. OK, NOW you are ready to write ^^

    8
  48. Question:
How many steps are there to writing?

    Answer:
    MORE than just one step!

Many people write more effectively if they first brainstorm and plan B4 they write.
YES! This does take some time, however it saves writing time later after you have thought about WHAT to write and HOW to organize it.
